Bartley is a life long resident of Madison County, Alabama and a second generation lawyer. Simply put, Bartley knows Madison County and its court system as well as anyone. After spending 30 years practicing law in the Huntsville, Alabama office of the five largest law firms in the State of Alabama (24 years as a partner) Bartley decided to make a change so he could better represent his clients. Bartley has primarily focused his practice on business litigation, but with 30 years of experience he can (and has) handled almost every type of litigation matter a client may face, including but not limited to business disputes, personal injury cases, intellectual property disputes, real property litigation, estate disputes, whistleblower litigation and white collar crime matters to just name a few.

Bartley has successfully handled cases, mediated cases and conducted arbitrations in both State and Federal Courts in Alabama, Tennessee, Delaware, California, Pennsylvania, as well as other states. Bartley has multiple verdicts and settlements in excess of $1,000,000 and has the largest reported settlement in Madison County which was worth over $200,000,000. Through the years he has been lead counsel in cases which, through trials or settlements, have resulted in settlements or verdicts in excess of approximately $300,000,000 for his clients, and that is just on the plaintiffs side. He has also successfully defended numerous companies or individuals saving them hundreds of millions of dollars. His experience of both prosecuting and defending cases for his clients provides a different perspective which is very valuable to his clients.

Bartley is a AV rated lawyer by both his peers and the judiciary. He was elected as an Alabama Super Lawyer from 2012-2015 and Mid-South Super Lawyer 2016-2023. He has been elected to the Best Lawyers in America in various categories including Commercial Litigation, Banking and Finance Litigation, Securities Litigation, Mergers and Acquisitions Litigation, Real Estate Litigation and Intellectual Property from 2010-2024.
